i am reeling.

now watching kingdom today was just as much a struggle as yesterday. mnet won't stream it on youtube (and yet somehow they expect global fans to vote ;-;) so i had to jump from twitch link to periscope link just to be able to watch. i'm grateful to the streamers of course!

so tbz came second in the intro stage (i still feel they deserved first place but it's okay) and so the winners got to choose the order of performance for the "to the world" round, and tbz was sorted to go first. my boys weren't stressed at all and just went up to perform because no matter which slot they get, they'll deliver a hard-hitting performance that'll leave a permanent imprint in your mind.

my jaw is on the floor. they literally went under water. juyeon in chains, hyunjae and chanhee only held together by a silky cloth, younghoon and sunwoo reaching for each other, all under water. they look like oil paintings omg

now can we talk about hyunjae's mullet?!! he's stunning. he's beautiful. he's ethereal, he's the prettiest existence, he's like a child of aphrodite while being a son of poseidon because the glitter, the blue watery theme, the eye makeup?? the BLINDFOLDS?? they went all out.

the stage design was maximised, it didn't even look like a stage, we were in tbz' under the sea cavern, we were in their kingdom. we couldn't breathe. kevin, jacob and hak with the hands behind the camera?? tbz are always learning and getting inspired and improving and bringing newer innovative ideas to the table. the hand thing reminded me of seulrene's naughty.

sunwoo always transcends. he is scared of a lot of things but when it comes to a performance, he just brushes past those fears like it's nothing. this time he was hurtling down on a rope like he's not afraid of heights, and he was even scared about going underwater but he still did it magnificently (bless hoonie for helping him out)

and eric's flip over the fire which raged at the bottom of the sea towards the end??? i've had enough (read: i haven't). they're insane. and it wasn't just deobis enjoying, the other participating groups were enthralled. in particular, i.n. and changbin and jisung from stray kids were sooo relatable. their reactions to hyunjae and tbz ending fairy hahaha sameeee

an unparalleled performance. i don't think anyone can beat them, just the skewed voting system *sobs*
at least they'll know deep down (as well as everyone else) that they're the true winners for this one, all fandom power exluded.

anyway i'd like to commemmorate this day for bringing mullet sea god hyunjae. i've never imagined him with one and isn't it such a coincidence that before today's episode, i already planned a fic in my head with hyunjae underwater, and all because i was watching a closer lyric video and jumil sang right after each other and their voices and the song and the lyrics are so beautifully mesmerising.

looks like my next fic may be jumil, or maybe not because i feel it'll take me longer to write (according to my mental map, it's quite deep, scenic and slow burn...)
