i recently got lowk invested in something i thought would be one of the last things i'd be invested in.
anyone heard of VTUBERS????
it started with a vague curiosity because one of such vtubers appeared on my recommended, it was vox akuma of nijisanji en. i've seen him a couple of times on my yt feed because of his genshin streams, but i was really confused as to what an anime looking man was all about. so google was my bestie and i ended up spending the day reading up on vtubers and nijisanji on their wiki.
turns out vtubers are not that different from kpop idols LOL. they can be independent or join companies where they can make their debut and develop a fanbase/community. they communicate by streaming, social media and release original music/covers.
obviously i started with nijisanji en, so i know all the vtubers there (also they're a RIOT?? there's something fresh about them never mincing their words at all, never censoring themselves?? they also actively encourage slash shipping fanart of themselves which is ???? anyway there was definitely a huge culture shock for me but i enjoy it. there will always be one of them streaming some game or something that i can play in the background while working, and they're so down to earth and funnnnyyyy
my oshi? is probably ike from luxiem, and kanae from the jp branch. one day i'll make a post explaining properly about nijisanji hehehehe
